About Portavadie

Portavadie lies on the east coast of Loch Fyne in Argyll and Bute.

Once the site for an oil construction yard developed in the early days of North Sea oil exploration, the yard never got into production. The former construction yard has now been converted into a 230-berth marina, which opened in August 2007. Restaurant, bar, office and facilities have been built. It is hoped to further develop the site with housing and apartments. See Portavadie Marina.

Calmac operates a ferry link across the loch to Tarbert on the Kintyre peninsula.
