About Houton

The linkspan jetty projects into the almost circular bay of Houton, an anchorage that has been in use since the Vikings first came to Orkney. A car ferry operates from this pier to Lyness, in Hoy. The adjacent private pier is used by Talisman Energy for their passenger service to Flotta Oil Terminal.
